2014 NBA Game Preview: Houston Rockets vs Miami Heat Key Match Ups

By

The Houston Rockets are on the road in the second night of back-to-back game and headed East to South Beach to visit the newly retooled Miami Heat. Both teams are undefeated and each team will look to spoil the other one's unblemished record in this battle of two basketball heavy weights. The game will tip off Tuesday night, November 4, 7:30 EST, and can be viewed live online.

Here are the Key Match-ups in tomorrow nights game:

James Harden vs. Dwyane Wade: Before Harden got drafted in the NBA, Wade was already an NBA champion and was considered one of the leagues best regardless of position. Now, Wade is taking a back to Harden because the former is clearly the best shooting guard in the NBA as of now. But Wade will take every game against Houston and Harden personally to prove that he is still in the conversation as the league's best 2-guards.

Trevor Ariza vs. Luol Deng: Two impact players in the SF position who are known for their veteran savvy and excellent defense. Deng has been a work horse in his entire career in the NBA and continues to be a productive player in both ends of the floor for the Heat, scoring double digits and averaging 32 minutes per game and doing the duty of defending the opponent's best wing player through 3 games.

The Rockets signed Trevor Ariza in the wake of Chandler Parson's departure to the Dallas Mavericks this summer in the free agency. While he might have been Houston's back up plan when the Mavs stole Parson's away, Ariza has proven to be an excellent signing for the Rockets. He is shooting lights out from the 3-point line and his his defense that doesn't show up on the stat sheet has made him such a great and better fit with the Rockets than Parsons.

Dwight Howard vs. Chris Bosh: Its hard to imagine what the Heat would look like and where they would be early in the season if Bosh had not resigned with them this offseason. The dude is taking his game back when he was with the Toronto Raptors averaging 26/11 in the first 3 games of the season and totally earning that huge max contract deal. Against the Rockets in preseason, he shot 58% but and was a nightmare match up for Houston's bigs because of his ability to knock down the ball from deep and drive the ball to the rim. He'll be a problematic cover for Houston and if Dwight Howard gets into foul trouble again, then D-Mo will be in real trouble. But same goes for the Heat who will surely have their hands full against Howard especially that they are a team who really don't have a true center who can bang against Howard down low.
