Waiting in quiet desperation for the Apple Watch?
Well, that quiet desperation's going to last a few months longer.
It's just been revealed that the hotly-anticipated Apple Watch, which will finally transform Apple purchasers into secret agents from the 1960s, may release in the spring of 2015.
The scoop comes from 9to5Mac.com- they've got insider coverage on a video message sent to Apple employees, which allegedly contained the following information:
"We're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring"
Sounds pretty solid to us (unless, of course, Apple has a second watch in the works that no one knows about). This year, Chinese New Year begins on February 19, so expect the Apple Watch to be in stores some time after that. Technically, the first day of summer in 2015 is June 21st, so consider that a rough estimate of the latest possible date we'll see the Apple Watch launching.
CNET has more on the story- they report that the only thing Apple has said up until this point was that the Apple Watch would be launching at an undisclosed point in early 2015. They also add in an earlier rumor, that the Apple Watch was expected to hit store shelves by Valentine's Day. Although, given the latest rumor, that's probably no longer the case.
Latin Post also adds that Apple may be prepping the rumored iPad Pro, that's a bit more high-tech than the company's other tablets. It's also larger, measuring in at more than a foot long. Details about this one are sketchy at best though, so expect it to launch long after the Apple Watch is available in stores.
Check back soon for the latest on the Apple Watch and its upcoming release date.
