Choosing Between Google Inbox vs Gmail 5.0: Organization VS Android 5.0 Lollipop design update and all-in-one email hub

By

Google's Inbox may have been new and an excellent choice until the company decided that a Gmail app overhaul is also in order. The Gmail 5.0 comes with the Android 5.0 Lollipop design update including an all-in-one email hub functionality. Inbox, on other hand, offers people are more organized way to view their contents. These features bring more concerns to light whether users are better off with the Gmail app or the Inbox program.

With the new Inbox app, Google guaranteed that it was able to clean its algorithm. The program matches users who need more organization in their mail. Likewise, it is also helpful for those who prefer not to mess with their labels, rules and folders. It is ideal for people who wish to go through their mails as quickly as possible.

In Inbox, a user receiving an email about her bank transactions will find the message grouped along with content about his/her credit or similar financial transactions. The program can categorize content. According to PC World, people also have the option to swipe through the messages either deciding to archive them or put them in snooze. Putting the message on snooze will allow the person to change the time the message pops up depending on time and location.

BGR reported that Inbox offers more than just message organization. It also manages relevant data to check which ones are "deemed" more important to the user without looking at their timestamp. This allows content categorization without the users needing to check each email. For example, time-sensitive content can be on top of the inbox whereas some may be put to snooze only allowing the person to see them when they were chosen to pop up.

Gmail, on other hand, offers the basic mail services. PC World notes that the Gmail application gives people an all-in-one hub option. People can access their accounts on Microsoft Exchange, Outlook.com, POP mail, IMPA or Yahoo through it. Users will not have a hard time exchanging between accounts if they need to.

For those who wish to take advantage of the mail programs, people do not really have to choose. They can use both but frequency may depend on how individuals want to work with their emails.
