Reports surfaced last week that K-pop idol megagroup EXO will be having a comeback in January. However, the group's record label stepped forward soon after to dispel the rumors, disappointing some fans, KpopStars reports.

Korean media outlet, Sports Donga reported on November 14, that the group is gearing up for a comeback. A representative from SM told media outlets, "EXO has been preparing for their comeback, but the date has not yet been set. EXO is doing their best to prepare for the second full album, and is working hard to meet the expectation of fans."

Previously, there were speculations that the group will be returning in January, 2015. While SM Entertainment did not announce a specific date, they confirmed that the group is actually working on an upcoming album, which is still something fans should look forward to.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the highly successful and controversial group will be having their comeback in the first quarter of 2015.

The upcoming EXO album would be their first as a 10-member group. Chinese former member Kris (Wu Yifan) left the group in May after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment while Luhan left last October after doing the same.

The exit of the two members left the group's Mandarin language subunit EXO-M with only four members namely, Lay, Tao, Xiumin, and Chen. Meanwhile, according to Soompi, the official fan base of EXO, EXO-L, are looking forward to their idols' new dynamics now that they are only ten in the group.

EXO is currently busy with their "The Lost Planet" concert tour. The group recently wrapped up their show in Fukuoka Japan on November 13. They will be heading to Tokyo in November 18 for the start of a three-concert series for their Japanese fans. The tour's final show will be held in Osaka on December 24.
