After her mother, Tameka "Tiny" Harris has had her eye colored changed to blue via Brightocular, a procedure illegal in the U.S., Zonnique Pullins may have followed suit if her Instagram post on November 16 is to be taken as clue. Whether or not it is permanent like her mother's is unclear.
Mstarz reports that Pullins posted a photo on Instagram that had people wondering whether she had undergone the same procedure her mother did after sporting blue eyes in a photo on her social media account. Pullins' caption did not have anything to do with the eye color change, however. Pullins posted the photo on November 16 and has not updated her account since. The photo has already garnered over 70,000 likes.
Pullins' mother, Harris, has had the procedure on her eyes done in South Africa. She announced that she was up for the procedure despite receiving some backlash about her decision.
According to Enstarz, the procedure Harris has opted for is not approved in the U.S., which was why she had to go to Africa to get it done. Explaining the procedure, Daily Mail has Harris relaying to Good Morning America: "They go into the eye and they make a little slit. They take an implant and it's folded up. They open it [and] spread it over your eye." Harris also recalled her vision being blurry when she woke up after the procedure, which only lasted for 5-10 minutes. "Then it kind of fades in," Harris explains.
Following the procedure, which used ice-gray implants, Harris thanked Dr. Montasser Menif, reports Mstarz. Before the implants, Harris' eyes were brown.
Daily Mail says that similar procedures exist for those with medical problems or conditions that might require them in United States. According to Harris, she feels fine after the procedure.
While Harris' procedure is for a permanent eye color change, Enstarz wonders if Pullins' is as well.
Pullins is a member of the singing group "The OMG Girlz" and also appears with Tiny's "Family Hustle" reality television show on VH1, shares Enstarz.
