In the November 17 broadcast of JTBC's "Non-Summit" also known as "Abnormal Summit," Super Junior members Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk appeared to represent Korea in the panel.
In the show, the two k-pop idols checked their current popularity in various countries represented by non-Korean men in the panel, only to find out that one of their junior label mates are currently more popular than they are. The apparent fading popularity of the group overseas became a subject of laughter during the show.
According to Enews, Turkey's Enes Kaya said that SuJu was very popular up until 2013.
France's Robin Deiana said, "In Turkey, it was last year, but in France, it's been three years," and "First it was Super Junior, then SHINee, and now EXO."
Host Yoo Se-yoon then asked China's Zhang Yuan about the matter. The Chinese rep honestly answered, "These days, because of EXO..." Everyone burst into laughter during the show.
"A lot of Chinese people like EXO, but the thing about Chinese people is that, once they like something, it goes on for a very long time," added Zhang Yuan. "If Super Junior was to come to China right now, it would be crazy. If Super Junior released a new song, it′ll be number one."
Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk said that in Taiwan, their songs stayed at the top of the music charts for a whooping 121 weeks.
Meanwhile, EXO-K recently performed during the "2014 South Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards" in November 17 at the Hongik University's Art Center in Seoul.
The six-member subunit of EXO performed their sunbaenims, Super Junior's hit song "Sorry Sorry" as well as their own track "Mama." The event was graced by EXO's label mates Red Velvet, who performed "Be Natural."
The event was also attended by prime actors Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun who accepted the Prime Minister Awards.
