For the last two decades, the NBA has been the home for the world's most popular, game changing, and iconic basketball superstars - Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, to name a few. These personas are now household names, but they all started at the same point in their career - being a rookie.
While the NBA 2014 - 2015 Regular Season is still on its early stages, some rookies of their respective teams have already started to create some clamor in the media pool.
Jabari Parker, picked second overall - first round, has recently been grabbing attention from the media, as the Milwaukee Bucks have been hinting on putting him as a centerpiece for their rebuilding process, New York Times reports. Why not? The six-foot-eight Duke University alum has a winning mindset (being a four-time state champion during his high school days) and a familiarity with being a team's anchor (He was the 'main man' for Duke University). Parker averages 10.7 points and 5.5 boards per contest.
Although being drafted and traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, in the 2013-2014 draft, Nerlens Noel missed the 2013-2014 NBA Regular Season; thus this year will be his rookie season. After Philadelphia's disappointment on Noel's injury last year (torn ACL, as per NBA.com), the 6-foot-eleven forward/center is now back on his feet and ready to make an impact. Aside from his already established reputation in the defensive end, Noel's offensive game has also been something to look forward to, NBA.com reports.
While the aforementioned rookies have been reaping good appraisals, another first-year player bears the contrary. Lakers' big man and rookie, Julius Randle - suffered a fractured tibia to his right leg in their game against the Houston Rockets last October 28, 2014. Although his surgery was successful and is expected to have a full recovery, NBA.com reports that he will likely miss the rest of the season.
