NBA Rumors: Toronto Raptors to make a trade deal for Kenneth Faried? New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets also in play for the 'Manimal'

By

Despite Kenneth Faried's strong outing in the recent FIBA World Cup of basketball and his status as a fan favorite in Denver, people running the Nuggets organization are apparently mot that high on him. In fact, rumors have begun spreading that the Nuggets front office are already shopping Faried this season and general manager Tim Connelly dropped the bomb this week when he admitted in front of the media that all of the players on the roster are considered tradable assets.

"Every player on our roster is a movable asset," Connelly said in an interview with Kevin Arnovits of ESPN. "Certainly you don't want to view players as assets, but there's a part of you in the front office that has to be brutally honest with how these guys are viewed league-wide. We don't have a guy on the roster we'd have to heavily incentivize to move."

If Faried is really in the trade block then numerous teams will surely be lining up to make their offers and among the potential suitors for the high-energy forward could be the Toronto Raptors.

Per Paul Taylor of Tip of the Tower on the Raptors and a trade for Faried:

If Masai Uriji and the Raptors do indeed make of move for Faried, this raises the question of what they would have to offer in return? Possibilities include offering one of, if not both, Amir Johnson and Terrence Ross.

Johnson may be extremely popular in the Raptors locker room, but he plays the same position as Faried and his ongoing injury issues are a cause for concern. Ross could also be expendable, especially with people continually doubting his desire to fully embrace his unquestioned superior athletic skills.

The reason why the Raptors have become a top trade candidate for Faried is because of his relationship with the association with general manager Masai Ujiri, the guy that drafted him 22nd overall in 2011. But aside from Toronto, the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets, also expressed interest in the power forward according to Realty Today.
