The Fox drama series "Red Band Society" didn't exactly start well when they kicked off with their pilot. And although it has a promising cast, the show is about to be axed by the network due to the poor ratings it has been getting since it premiered. Cinemablend reported that the show wouldn't immediately be cancelled, but Fox already made an announcement that they are withdrawing their original 13 episodes for the first season.
"Red Band Society" can still be seen tonight and even next week so there is probably still a chance for it to pick up more viewers. Deadline said that the show has been softly rated that the network became non-committal to their other episodes scheduled to be aired. It is not the only series that was axed this fall because NBC also did their cancellation with "Bad Judge", "A to Z" and their drama series, "Constantine."
This Fox drama show has still a chance to make it since the network has not abruptly pulled it out just yet. But in case you have become a fan of the series, it is best not to hold your breath on it. The show started being one of the most popular pilots but unfortunately, it has not really picked up since then. Not a lot of people appreciate the story although it kind of has won the heart of some teenagers.
According to Hollywood Reporter, another reason that the show could be cancelled completely is the fact that its producer, ABC studios refuses to grant FOX's request to reduce the license fee. Despite the network's announcement regarding its cancellation, there are still three remaining episodes that the audience could watch after their 10th episode on the December and this what is keeping the hopes up of both the cast and its followers. But after that, it is going to be gone.
