After a series of official and unofficial leaks from the upcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the cinematic franchise's Twitter account made an announcement today, November 27, that the film's teaser would be shown online as well as in select theaters on Friday, November 28.
Screenrant said that the announcement was in good timing considering that production of the "Star Wars 7" film had wrapped weeks ago. The announcement read, "The Force is with you on #BlackFriday when #TheForceAwakens teaser hits @iTunesTrailers."
CNet said that JJ Abrams and his team might have heeded the call of desperation from "Star Wars" fans who might have been disappointed with the news that the trailer would first debut in theaters. The teaser trailer is believed to be shown in the 30 theaters being run by cinema chains like Regal, AMC and Cinemark.
If you, howeved, intend to watch it in theaters, MTV listed down the following rules on how to see the trailer the right way:
1. Avoid getting spoilers from fellow fans or from social media and go to the theater on Friday.
2. Shut down all social media updates from your phone, or better yet, shut your mobile phone entirely. This is to avoid the risk of getting spoilers even from your immediate family or friends via SMS.
3. Do not go to the mall. If the theater is inside a mall, plan the fastest, most quickest route to avoid the Black Friday shopper crowd.
4. Since the trailer might only run for at least 88 seconds, go watch a film that you do not mind watching on the big screen.
5. Do not leave the theater after the teaser trailer. You might as well enjoy the movie that comes after it.
There is no word yet on what time and how would the teaser trailer debut on iTunes, but Screenrant is betting on the possibility of the teaser running longer than 88 seconds and featuring the highly-anticipated Millenium Falcon.
