The hit TV series from Fox, "Sleepy Hollow" is currently on hype because of its mid-season finale's twist. If you haven't seen it yet, then you must know that there are a ton of spoilers ahead on this article as you read on.

Variety has summed up what really happened that made fans of the show even more hooked. The shocking twist on this episode is the death of one of the most loved characters in the show, Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones).

His heroic moves of killing Molock and being the sacrifice against War has left the fans devastated of his death. On the bright side, at least he died a hero. There are questions however if he will reappear on the coming episodes but of course, the studio didn't make a statement regarding that just yet.

E! Online also elaborated how Irving's character got to be sacrificed. Apparently, they were all left with no choice to do since they learned that using the Sword of Methuselah could make someone's soul gone, the team decided to just have Irving handle it since his soul was already owned by the evil, War aka Henry aka Jeremy.

Abbie's (Nicole Beharie) reaction to the whole situation just made the episode even more intense. Now fans can't really help but wonder if there is a chance that some magic could heal Irving and possibly bring him back to life.

For those who are wondering why the writers and the creator of the show suddenly axed Irving's character, Inside ETV has a scoop as they interviewed the man behind the show, Mark Goffman.

He said that it was hard for them as well and they were even emotional about the decision. But they needed to do what they can to convey such good story to the fans and sometimes axing an important character has to be done.

"Sleepy Hollow" airs every Monday night at 9 PM on FOX.
