The Voice Season 7 Top contestants would prove to be the most competitive to date. Veteran coach, Blake Shelton even went so far as to declare that this is the best group of singer's this show's ever seen. Shelton made the announcement Monday night following the top eight's performances.
According to the official website, the competition proved to get even more fierce as the Top 8 inched their way towards a spot in the much coveted Top 5. Coaches Adam Levine, Pharell Williams, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton continued their duties as mentors, coaching their team members toward the final legs of the race towards the season finale.
Monday night's performance showed stellar performances from contestants wanting to score that much-coveted vote from America's audiences. Ryan Sill from Team Gwen kicked off the night with his rendition of Journey's, "Open Arms." This was followed by Team Blake's, Craig Wayne Boyd who sang, The Eagles', "Take it Easy."
The lone female contestant, DaNica Shirey of Team Pharell performed "These Dreams" by Heart. Damien from Team Adam sang Adele's "Someone Like You." Chris Jamison also of Team Adam sang his rendition of Marvin Gaye's, "Sexual Healing."
Luke Wayde of Team Pharell sang Simply Red's, "Holding Back the Years." Taylor John Williams from Team Gwen performed, "Royals" by Lorde. Capping off the night was Matt McAndrew who performed Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter."
It was quite a nail-biting moment in Tuesday's live results show. It would feature a triple elimination with show host Carson Daly revealing a bottom four. With a different four revealed to be safe, Ryan Sill, DaNica Shirey, Luke Wade, and Chris Jamison were revealed to be in the bottom four. Pharell was also guaranteed to lose one, if not both of his contestants.
The bottom four would then perform their last minute saves in order to compete for the last spot in the Top 5 via a live vote. In the end, Jamison was declared the winner of the last spot in the Top 5 while the others were swiftly eliminated including Sill, who was given the instant save for the pasr two weeks.
As season 7 draws to a close, one thing is for certain. The stellar performances would get even more exciting and tension-filled.
