"The Winds of Winter" will be the 6th instalment of 'A Song of Ice and Fire', a novel series written by George R.R. Martin. It was adopted by HBO in its hit TV Series entitled "Game of Thrones" and it has gained a wider fan base ever since it was aired in TV.
Fans of the epic novel "A Song of Ice and Fire" have been waiting for the sixth installment of the series. Air Herald reports that ever since "A Dance with Dragons" has been published in 2011, fans have been very patient in the release of its follow-up "The Winds of Winter". George R.R. Martin admits that things are slow going for him in finishing the novel. While this may not be new considering that the author releases his books in a span of a couple of years, the author has never been too busy before as compared to this time.
According to Christian Today, Martin has been very busy with his interviews and appearances all over the globe since "Game of Thrones" became a big hit in HBO. It drained the author and obstructed him to focus on finishing up his novel.
"Writer's block isn't to blame here, it's distraction. In recent years, all of the work I've been doing creates problems because it creates distraction," said Martin during the Independent Film Festival held in Santa Fe last October. Indiewire published the highlights of the said interview and Martin added, "Because the books and the show are so popular I have interviews to do constantly. I have travel plans constantly. It's like suddenly I get invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai, and who's passing up a free trip to Dubai? I don't write when I travel. I don't write in hotel rooms. I don't write in airplanes. I really have to be in my own house undisturbed to write."
Martin found renewed energy and motivation to finish his novel when he saw the release of the trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" last November. As source of Hollywood Life said, "He was really excited about the Star Wars trailer and knows that people will feel the same way once his book is out," he further claims that "He finally looked into things as a fan and not as a writer. The trailer opened up something he has been missing lately, the wonderment of everything is making his creative juices flow again. He is determined to have the new book out and ready for 2015."
We hope that George R.R. Martin will stay excited until the release of "The Winds of Winter" this 2015 and we hope that HBO adopts the novel really well like what they did in their past 4 seasons of their "Game of Thrones".
