While many Blackjacks were thrilled seeing 2NE1's appearance on the season finale of "America's Next Top Model," many seemed to be not exactly happy about how things turned out for the idol group.
The four idols performed their hit song "Crush" on stage and also had the chance to meet and talk to the finalists of the model-search, KpopStars reports.
After the broadcast of the episode, some fans expressed their opinion on what appeared to be a focus on 2NE1's leader CL aka Lee Chaerin over fellow members Sandara Park, Park Bom, and Gong Minji.
Some who watched their performance commented that CL, who is making her US debut with Scooter Braun next year, is overshadowing the other three idols.
A user who goes by the name AnalogGuy left a comment on YouTube, "CL is the star here. The rest of the girls are just backup and unimportant."
"I'm a huge fan of 2NE1, but it seems like CL featuring 2NE1," wrote user catsandcandies on YouTube. "By the way, CL is my bias in the group, but things like that make me sad about the other members."
Others, meanwhile, pointed out that it was not CL's fault and that the issue stemmed from ANTM's editing. "If you watch the fancams each member goes to the front for their turn, but here they only aired CL's parts," commented jtv612x. "She's not doing it intentionally."
KpopStars noted that this was not the first time the singer has received negative criticism on such matter. Earlier this year, fans and observers accused CL of the same preferential treatment following the release of their "Crush" MV.
In other news, it was reported this week that 2NE1 is expected to attend the upcoming 2014 SBS Gayo Deajun without Park Bom, who was recently involved in a drug smuggling controversy. After the issue broke, Bom left her reality show Roommate and took a break from her commitments. According to Koreaboo, it was revealed later on that the idol needed the prescribed drugs for health reasons.
