Hope Logan has already made an exit in a December 12 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful," putting to rest Matula's portrayal of the role. However, it would seem that the show will not be without Hope's character just yet.
Contrary to earlier reports, it would seem that Logan's character is being re-cast. This is according to JGB News who has executive producer Bradley P. Bell confirming that Logan is "here to stay."
Soap Opera Network quotes the show's executive producer and head writer Bell from his interview with soap Opera Digest saying, "Hope Logan is a critical and central character to the show. Hope will continue to be on the show. We're losing Kim Matula, who is a brilliant actress, and I am hoping, at some point, she will return in the role-but the role will continue."
It was on November 5 that Matula's exit from the show had been announced, setting an end date to her five-year portrayal of Logan, mentions Soap Opera Network. At that time, the news was that the role wouldn't be re-cast, but things have apparently changed. "I've lost so many [actors and actresses in recent years that I'm excited about the challenge," Bell stated.
With the possibility of Logan's role being recast, the internet has been swirling with theories on who could replace the role left behind by Matula. Celeb Dirty Laundry mentions Julie Berman from "General Hospital" as a possible replacement, as well as Chrishell Stause from "Days of Our Lives." No announcement has been made on Berman's part, but Stause is set to leave "Days of Our Lives," which could make it easier for her to jump ship.
Furthermore, Celeb Dirty Laundry says, "Stause is already close to CBS executives because her long time boyfriend is none other than Justin Hartley-'The Young and the Restless'' new Adam Newman."
While news about Matula's exist has dominated the internet, she is not the only actor to bring change to the set. According to a different Celeb Dirty Laundry article, another character might be returning to the show. Bobbie Eakes is being rumored to return to her role as Macy Alexander despite the character's supposed death in 2003. Actor Eakes herself states, "They never had a funeral-you never saw my character dead. So I think there is a big, giant loophole that someone could drive a truck through if they wanted."
Eakes has also expressed being open to reprising her role, but noted that no one has approached her yet.
