One year into their marriage, "Scandal" star Kerry Washington is reported to be having problems with husband Nnamdi Asomugha to the point of having a divorce because of not being able to spend enough time together as a family due to Washington's busy schedule.
Not for the first time in her one-year-old marriage, Washington and Asomugha are faced with divorce speculations following rumors that the two barely spend time together despite having a child, IB Times reports, citing a source talking to OK! Magazine.
According to IB Times, Washington remains very private about her life, which makes confirmation of whether their marital problems are true unlikely. However, OK! Magazine's source says that even if Washington spoke openly about her marriage, there would be nothing to tell because they rarely spend time together.
The lack of time spent together is apparently to blame for Asomugha wanting to end the marriage, shares Fashion & Style. Washington, who is filming for "Scandal" as Olivia Pope and campaigning for Neutrogena, has a hectic schedule to deal with.
However, this does not affect the marriage, clarifies the article.
Fashion & Style explains, "Reps for the 'D'Jango' star recently spoke out against the rumors and said that there's no scandal going on in Washington's life."
Furthermore, a source talking to Hollywood Life exclusively put the divorce rumors to rest, saying, "They are actually excited for the holidays as a family and have no drama in their lives. Leave that for the TV show."
Washington will be spending her first Christmas with former Oakland Raiders husband and eight-month-old daughter Isabelle Amarachi, Fashion & Style mentions.
Prior to rumors of Asomugha wanting to end the marriage because of lack of time spent together, the couple was also center of the spotlight when rumors started swirling about Asomugha being secretly gay and Washington being his "beard."
