‘Frozen Fever’ Release Date, Plot, and Rumors: ‘Frozen’ short expects success; Sequel to steer on the dark side

'Frozen' is probably Disney's most successful animated movie of the year, and the 'Frozen Fever' that is slated for March 13, 2015 is expected to relish the same success. Also, rumor has it that the 2nd 'Frozen' will have a dark plot.

As much as we would like to believe that Disney has the magical powers to pull off a sequel that's going to be as good as the first 'Frozen,' the truth is that the sequel is still a long way. In fact, Disney hasn't started working on it. Instead, they have decided to tease fans with 'Frozen Fever' which centers on Anna's birthday, reported iDigital Times.

In "Frozen Fever," it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk. Still this movie spells more fun and less gloomy than the first one. Also beloved characters such as Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell as Elsa and Anna will reprise. As for the sequel of the Oscar-winning film, several reports agree that the plot of the second one will take the inspiration of the original Hans Christian Andersen fairytale 'The Snow Queen'-and that means that it will have a darker story. The story tells of Gerta who seeks her friend Kai who was taken by the Snow Queen. She has to kiss him in order to free him from the spell, reported Latino's Post.

"The Snow Queen" is easily one of Andersen's most famous stories, and has been published and transcribed in many languages all over the world. The first 'Frozen' film was derived from this story as well, starring Princess Anna who goes on an adventure to save her sister, Queen Elsa, who ran away because of her magical powers, wrote Ecumenical News.
