The last X-Men movie entitled "X-Men: Days of the Future Past" was a huge success early this year. Fans enjoyed the collaboration of their favorite superheroes from their 1970s version of themselves and their future personae. With its growing fan base, it is no wonder why film producers are keeping X-Men films in production. Thus, as what we have seen in the post credit scene of "X-Men: Days of the Future Past", a new threat is looming beyond the horizon to set path for a new movie plot for "X-Men: Apocalypse".
The proposed plot of the new X-Men movie, entitled "X-Men: Apocalypse" makes things difficult for the producers to keep Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the film. Fan Share reports that as the X-Men films come, Jackman grows older making it harder for them to cast him as Logan in the story.
There will be no more time travel plot in the story for the new X-Men movie which will be set in 1980s and it would be odd to see an old Wolverine in the film compared to the previous X-Men movies which took place in 2000s where he is still young.
According to MTV News, Hugh Jackman was interviewed in Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, and the Australian actor said that "I have been speaking to the guys, and I'm not at liberty to tell exactly what's going on," he said, "which is largely framing my answer here."
He continued saying that "But there's still a lot unknown about that, actually, there are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie. There's some really cool things going on."
Speaking of which, another Wolverine movie is under production which will follow the solo adventures of Logan after the "The Wolverine" became a huge hit in the box office. Hugh Jackman says that he is collaborating well with writer David James Kelly in "working on it really hard," adding that he is very excited with the third Wolverine movie.
X-Men: Apocalypse is slated to be released on May 27, 2016. The target release date for the untitled third Wolverine movie is set at March 3, 2017.
Will Hugh Jackman still join the cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Wolverine or will he just do more solo Wolverine Movies? Stay tuned for more updates!
