Twitter Korea revealed earlier the most popular tweets made in the microblogging site this year. It was reported that G-Dragon's "#PRAYFORSOUTHKOREA" was the most retweeted post in the country, giving it the "Golden Tweet" title.
According to allkpop, the post was tweeted by the idol back in April during the tragic Sewol ferry accident that took the lives of over 300 people. The said post was retweeted 53,000 times.
However, before the year ends, a new Twitter post has taken this lead from the Big Bang member. BTS member V (aka Taehyung) has dethroned GD's tweet by his viral photo which was retweeted more than 56,000 times as of December 16, KpopStars reports.
On December 4, V posted on Twitter a photo of him with EXO member Baekhyun. Taken at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2014 (MAMA 2014), the photo immediately became viral, with fans noticing the striking similarities between the two idols.
The message that came with the photo reads, "MAMA was really enjoyable and interesting and we will show a cooler performance next time! Thank you ARMY (BTS' fanclub) and thank you very much for waiting."
V also greeted Baekhyun for his group's four awards. "Congratulations Hyung (meaning older brother) for receiving the award," he said on the post.
G-Dragon now has the second most retweeted tweet in Korea, followed by Super Junior's Siwon with a tweet being retweeted almost 45,000 times.
In other news, BTS showed their love and support to a Venezuelan fan suffering cancer. The fan named Rahily Ramos, 15, received signed CDs along with messages of support and encouragement from the idol group.
Rahily's family asked the help of the Korean Embassy in Venezuela, requesting a message of support from BTS as Rahily receives treatment.
The Korean Embassy coordinated with the group's record label, Big Hit Entertainment. The fan's moving story reached BTS who immediately responded and made the effort to send gifts and words of encouragement.
Rahily expressed her gratitude for the idol group's act of kindness. She said her dreams came true.
