'The Winds of Winter' release date has once again been circulating around when author, George R.R. Martin allegedly made a twitter countdown. The author speaks up to debunk the rumors and clarify everything.
According to The Christian Times, the rumors on the release date of "The Winds of Winter" began circulating when Random House, the book publisher, embarked on a "12 Days of Christmas" celebration with a "Westeros twist" in the author's Twitter account.
Fans of the George R.R. Martin go on frenzy over the news and they believe that the twitter message of the author is an actual countdown for the release of "The Winds of Winter". This led Martin to post on his Not A Blog live journal the actual truth to clarify and set things straight once again.
"Sorry. Not true. Look, I've said before, and I will say again, I don't play games with news about the books. I know how many people are waiting, how long they have been waiting, how anxious they are. I am still working on WINDS," said George R.R. Martin in his post aptly titled "Rumors and Fabrications"
He further said that he will be "straightforward and to the point" in his announcement and he will not release the "The Winds of Winter" to coincide with any events or celebration. He firmly said that "When it is done, I will say that's it is done, on whatever day I happen to finish."
"The Winds of Winter" is part of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series of George R.R. Martin. It caught up a huge fan base when the Martin's masterpiece series has been adopted by HBO. Kpopstarz reports that George R.R. Martin is in a lot of pressure lately to finish the book considering that the story line in the HBO Series is getting nearer to the events in the book.
