The cast of the controversial film, "The Interview" is enjoying its moment as the top grossing movie after garnering over $15 million earnings in online sales. Reportedly, "The Interview" has also earned $2.8 million dollars at the box office for its limited release. The controversial film's official release was cancelled after hacker threats eventually surround it.
The film's theme focused on putting the blames of cyber attack on North Korea. The cast of the highly publicized movie is going to enjoy the glory of being appraised for a job well done. James Franco, Seth Rogen and the other actors and actresses who gave life to the film have set things straight on giving "The Interview" something worth knowing more about.
The movie's public success is likely going to turn things around for the better for The Interview's cast. A far cry on how things used to be for the actors about almost two weeks ago.
In an article in the Latin Post, it was reported that both Rogen and Franco feared threats to their safety, hence, decided to cancel multiple public appearances. Before "The Interview" was distributed for limited release, Rogen decided not to make an appearance in "Late Night with Seth Meyers." Rogen and Franco both pulled out of appearing in "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and the Buzzfeed Brews event in New York.
Reuters reported that The New York premiere of the said film did not pursue as theaters in many places of the world feared for safety instability.
The same article from the Latin Post reported the hackers' threatening message as saying:
"The world will be full of fear,"
"Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you'd better leave.) Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment."
