Recently, rumors surfaced claiming that SBS' celebrity home-sharing variety program "Roommate" will be cancelled and that its last filming is scheduled on February 25.
Just as fans began to worry, "Roommate's" Program Director Park Sang Hyuk, stepped forward to say there is no truth to the rumors, allkpop reports.
In an earlier exclusive report by Xports News, it said filming for "Roommate's" second season will end on February 25. It also reported that some insiders in the entertainment industry said a third season is not likely to happen as there were talks about staff replacement.
PD Park spoke to OSEN shortly after the news broke and denied the rumors. "The report that ['Roommate'] will end filming on February 25 is false... A filming for February 25 has not even been set. I am just flabbergasted at how these rumors came about," said Park, giving fans the assurance that the hit show will not be ending anytime soon.
Meanwhile, another rep from SBS pointed out a possible reason behind the rumors. "Another PD, who directed 'Roommate' with PD Park, is preparing for a pilot variety show so maybe that's why these rumors came about."
In another report, the show will be airing a special spin-off episode to celebrate the Korean New Year in February. A representative from SBS told Star News on January 7, "We are currently preparing a one-episode spin-off special for the Korean New Year."
According to Soompi, the show's production team has reportedly started looking for new cast members. They have not confirmed any new members, as of the moment.
Meanwhile, the January 6 episode of "Roommate" became a hot topic as it featured GOT7's Jackson and actor Seo Kang Jun wearing nothing but towel in the men's locker room. According to allkpop, they went to a steaming bath house in the episode.
In the clip, Jackson proudly showed his abs to the camera while Kang Jun was rather shy, covering his chest. The two roommates also did push-ups. The video also featured other male casts, Lee Dong Wook and Jo Seho.
Another highlight of the episode was the appearance of another GOT7 member, BamBam, who helped Jackson and other cast as they engage in a charity event. As BamBam helped carry coal briquettes, KARA's Youngji helped him by holding his hands. As the female idol offered her hands, the GOT7 member said, "My heart is fluttering."
He then asked Youngji to laugh for him and she spontaneously showed her famous muted laugh, which BamBam received positively. Youngji responded, saying, "Aw, you're so cute!"
The scene called the interest of viewers, as Youngji is romantically linked to Jackson.
