The preparations for the 2020 Olympics in Japan are in full swing. Five years before the global sports event takes place in Tokyo, Japanese authorities are allegedly busy getting ready for the big event that'll showcase the best that the capital has to offer.
Public authorities are apparently intent on making the 2020 summer Olympics an unforgettable event for local residents and expats alike. The authorities are going out of their ways in making the city sustainable in time for the 2020 Olympics.
Word has it that preparation is in the works towards making Tokyo's athlete village a "futuristic hydrogen town". This means that Tokyo authorities plan to make electricity and hot water sources in the city originate from earth-friendly sources, as reported in a Japanese newspaper via CTV News Canada.
Tokyo authorities allegedly plan to distribute hydrogen energy sources to multiple housing and public sites, such as restaurants, cafeterias and training centers. When the 2020 Olympics are over, the hydrogen energy sources are in line for distribution to school and other commercial establishments that'll be visible at the athlete village by then, as reported by International Business Times UK.
Maenwhile, it was reported that plans are in the pipeline to renovate first state guest home in Tokyo and Japan in general. Allegedly, the home will be turned into The Hamarikyu Gardens in Tokyo's Chuo Ward. The renovation will get going ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Tokyo Governor Yoichi Masuzoe admitted in a news conference held in January 6 that:
"It is vitally important for the Olympics host city to have its own guest house to officially greet (foreign dignitaries),"
"It will allow us to offer Japanese-style hospitality that demonstrates the essence of our traditional culture."
The Hamarikyu Gardens used to be the home of honorable Tokugawa Shogunate's family. The gardens used to be a guest home for Enryokan. The garden is now a notable historical site in Japan.
