Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather should get in the ring already, boxing fans demand. A negotiation is already being made between the two parties, but the most awaited fight may not happen very soon.
Pacman's legal adviser Michael Koncz stated that they are open to finalizing the what would become the grandest fight of boxing history, but he also expressed his frustration over the fact the Mayweather's camp are still not conceding. They are giving Mayweather until the end of the month to decide, and if no deal will be finalized, Koncz said that they will have to look for other options for Pacquiao's next fight, wrote Latin Post.
An offer worth $120 million was offered by the UAE group for Pacquia-Mayweather fight to happen, but recent reports claim that the proposal is already off the table. Boxing executive Akbar Muhammad, who serves as leader of the group, expressed his disappointment over Mayweather's unwillingness to fight the Philippines' pride. Muhammad said that Mayweather already previously announced that he is up for the challenge on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
"We want to deal with serious individuals, individuals who have the ability make a decision," Muhammad said. "Regretfully, that is not the case with Mr. Mayweather. The Abu Dhabi group is serious, and I will not allow them to dangle an inordinate amount of time. Now that time has come and the offer is gone."
Washington Post also commented that Pacquiao's taunting Mayweather for a fight is accomplishing the exact opposite. The pound for pound king is just so busy flaunting his riches.
Pacquiao got provoked by Floyd's bragging and gave a response through his Instagram:
"Floyd brags about his lifestyle and everything! I don't care! I'm just waiting here for him to sign the contract! #fightpacquiao"
Boxing fans can no longer contain their desire to bring this generation's greatest boxers into the ring, but it seems that Floyd Mayweather is not hearing any of these challenges. Pacquiao's party has already expressed their frustration over Mayweather's unwillingness to finalize the deal. Do you think Pacquiao and Mayweather fight is still going to happen?
