‘Transformers 5’ Updates: Mark Wahlberg reprises his role while Megan Fox returns for a cameo; Jonathan Liebesman sits on director's chair

There's no question about the box-office success of 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' and now fans are wondering when the sequel of the highly anticipated franchise will be. And it also looks like Michael Bay may no longer have his hands on the next Transformers movie.

So who will be the director of the fifth installment? And can this person bring it to the same level of success just like Bay did in the previous films?

It has already been previously reported that Michael Bay is no longer directing. Recently, the name Jonathan Liebesman is creating a buzz as the next director of the film. He directed 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' that is also produced by Bay. As of now, Liebesman is top of the list.

But another question would be, is it going to be as good or even better than how Bay did it? Even the 'TMNT' had Bay's obvious signature on it and that is what some calls as his "magic."

Enstarz commented that of it is Liebesman who will direct, there is a strong likelihood that the fifth installment would still have the "touch" of Bay. Christian Post thinks that Bay has a heavy influence on the director.

What critics say regarding the works of Bay may not be flattering though. Despite its huge success in terms of income, critics said that the 'Age of Extinction' had such a bad plot with an overdose of special effects. Even 'TMNT' was rated as the worst film of the year by Razzies, International Business Times reported.

Meanwhile, despite previous reports, Mark Wahlberg will be reprising his role as Cade Yeager, a single dad who is also a struggling inventor. Megan Fox is also reported to take interest for a cameo in the next Transformers film.
