"American Horror Story" Season 4 Episode 12: Show Stopper is a satisfying episode to watch. Justice were handed down to the vile as the Freaks celebrate their triumph. But a lot of questions were left unanswered and it leaves the fans something to crave for in the Season's Finale Episode.
A lot has happened in Episode 12 of FX's hit horror TV show and its title "Show Stopper", really fits the overall tone of the show. Stanley met his doom in the hands of the freaks and he paid for his crimes. According to IGN, Stanley was turned into the New Meep in this episode as it would appear that way. His partner, Maggie was brutally murdered by Chester in one of his magical performance. Elsa fled the scene in hopes of escaping the wrath of her "Freaks" after Stanley revealed to them that Elsa killed Ethel.
Chester, who was played by Neil Patrick Harris, was supposed to be the new performer in Elsa's troupe of curiosities. He was able to perform his magical show last episode with the Bette and Dot. However Dandy revealed some "troubling information" about Chester to the twins which made them refuse to be his assistant as reported by International Business Times. The role was then filled up by Maggie who was murdered by Chester when he snapped, thinking that Maggie was his cheating wife.
Some of the revelations in this episode show not only the background of the characters in this season. They also expose clues which connect all the Season of the American Horror Story TV Series Franchise. We already know that "American Horror Story" Season 2: Asylum is connected with Season 4: Freak Show since we saw Pepper's Character and the mid-season finale last winter. This was reinforced in Episode 12 when it was shown that Dr. Hans Gruper was one of the people who took Elsa's feet. Fans of the series will know that Dr. Hans Gruper was the former name of Dr. Arthur Arden, the medical doctor in Season 2: Asylum.
GameNGuide reported as well that there are some clues that will reveal on where the next season of American Horror Story will take place. During the exchange between Chester and Elsa in Episode 11, a book for the records of sale of Chester was revealed to be printed in 1952. While it may just be a scant indication, it puts the timeline of Season 4: Freak Show along with Operation Top Hat which is a fan favorite plot and setting for the next season. The book was also printed in Detroit which is the origin of the character of Queenie from Season 3: Coven.
It's not much to say that these connect the Seasons of American Horror Story but it all adds up to the great storylines of the American Horror Story TV series.
"American Horror Story" Season 4 will air 'Episode 13: Curtain Call' next week, January 21. It will be the final episode of this season and it will hopefully tie up all loose ends.
