'Empire' Episode 2 Spoilers: Lucious and Cookie not seeing eye to eye and mogul hits wife? Jamal to perform in a Gay Club?

By

The highly anticpated hip hop drama series Empire has made its debut last January 7, 2015 and was met with favorable ratings. Viewers of the show have become obsessed as they entered the conniving world of music mogul Lucious Lyons.

According to Fashion and Style, viewers were instantly hooked with the gritty storyline where the super rich music executive Lucious Lyons (Terrence Howard) has discovered that he has ALS and has only three months to live. The mogul takes it into himself to find a suitable protege. However, family drama is certainly going to play a huge part in his battle. He also has to deal with his scheming ex wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

Season one would allow viewers to delve deeper into the world of Lucious and his three boys. Andre (Trai Byers) is the oldest son and is working as the company's CFO. However, Lucious isn't entirely convinced that his son has the "spunk and charisma". On the other hand, middle child Jamal (Jussie Smollet) is considered to be the musical prodigy but is shunned by his father because he is gay. The youngest child, Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) is already a successful rapper. The young man is driven by girls, money, and fame which is not what Lucious wants in an heir.

In the second epsiode of the series, entitled The Outspoken King Lucious and Cookie are clearly still not on the same boat about things. Lucious is still not open to the fact that Jamal is gay so he won't allow him to perform in the opening of his new club Leviticus. He would go on and say, he did not want the club to be "branded a homosexual club."

The feisty ex con decides to throw in her shoe at the argument, prompting a shouting match. Perhaps Lucious should remember that the ex con is someone to be not taken lightly?

Will the mogul decide to get rough with her when things go awry? In the sneak peek, Lucious comes close to doing so, but thankfully does not.

"Get your hands off of me," she screams, to which he does.
