It's Katy Perry time to perform in National Football League' Super Bowl XLIX Halftime show that's going to happen on February 1. The Roar singer, who is already prepping for her 12-minute empowering stage performance, also faces controversy on the reason why she got the part and possibility of her on and off relationship with John Mayer.
Through the years, Katy Perry proves that she's a woman of many achievements with her strings of hit shows and record-breaking albums. But this impressive profile doesn't sit well with the issue that she might pay NFL to headline this year's Super Bowl show at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The 30-year old Californian Pop singer clarified her stand where she also shared some of the details of the live show.
"I put my foot down very early in the courtship. I said, 'Look guys, here's where I draw a line in the sand,'" she commented. "I want to be invited on my own merits and not with some fine print. I stuck to my position ... I don't even care if my contract leaks. ... I have nothing to hide, basically," Perry said.
The ex-wife of actor-comedian Russell Brand also imparted that her show is about uplifting spirits and female empowerment. On Half Time show past unfortunate incidents such as Janet Jackson's wardrobe, Perry said she aims that viewers will only think about music.
"Everything I've done in my career hasn't been blatant this or that. It's always with a wink. It's a soft-serve sexiness," Perry said on her brand of music, reportedly. "My intention is that everyone talks about the music and nothing else. ... Sometimes you can't control other people. But I will control myself."
One the well-watch international live concerts, Super Bowl Half Time Show will also feature Lenny Kravitz as Perry segment's guest performer, John Legend and Idina Menzel.
But before hitting the stage as a performer, Perry is may hit another milestone as a lover. According to US Weekly the Firework singer is seeing again her ex boyfriend John Mayer.
"Things just needed to cool down. They aren't officially back on but talking again," the insider said.
Back on January 3, the duo was seen having dinner together in Beverly Hills before going straight to Perry's home in L.A. If they work it out this the fourth time Perry and Mayer reconcile.
