Delaware Police officer and his gang would never have thought that the video of him lip synching Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' would go viral in various social media platforms. And he sure got Taylor's attention and she even expressed her approval.
Dover Police Department posted the video of Officer Davis as he sang along to the music the music, reported News 10. And this is what the Facebook post reads:
"While reviewing dashcam footage, we come across some interesting sights to say the least. We decided we would share some with you in a new web series called "Dash Cam Confessionals." We hope you enjoy this...and Taylor Swift, if you're watching...we're sorry."
The video currently got around 13 million views on YouTube within 48 hours, and Taylor Swift retweeted the video and complimented the police officer on his "sass".
In a telephone interview, Officer Davis said that the video was made in order to create a local publicity, but they would never have thought that it would go on viral, reported NJ.
"It's been a little crazy around here - a bit of a whirlwind for me and my family - but we're taking it one day at a time," said Davis.
"The video was something the department wanted to do just for the 10,000 people who've liked us on Facebook," he added. "But we never thought it would get so viral."
According to Davis, the Dover police chose him to star in the video because "I'm kind of a goofball, and everyone knows me as the funny person in the department."
Also the reason why he seemed to have really memorized the song's lyrics, although he confirmed that he is a Taylor Swift fan, was because her 10 years old daughter who plays the song over and over again.
"My daughter's a bigger fan of her, but I've listened to the songs all the time with her, so I knew all the words already," he said.
It's really good to watch. Who knows what could be the next hit that this Delaware officers will do but they got the attention, and Taylor Swift seemed really amused.
