Australian model Ruby Rose landed a role in 'Orange is the New Black.' Also Jodie Foster earned her first DGA nomination for 'Orange' and 'House of Cards.'
The 28-year-old model is now officially a member of the Netflix show and in fact she's already in location, as the filming of the 3rd season continues. She could not seem to hold her excitement as she posted a photo of her in uniform just like the other inmates.
At Litchfield Penitentiary, she is the new inmate who will cause a tension between the main characters Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon) as she becomes the love interest of both, reported Daily Mail.
Acting may be new for her but the budding actress is sure to create a buzz as she will become the object of attention of the two lead characters who will try to outwit each other in order to win her affections. Before this acting gig, Rose already experienced success as a model, presenter and DJ.
Meanwhile, the two-time Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster cannot be any prouder of herself and the team as she got her hand on her first Drama's Guild of America nomination, reported Telegraph. The 52-year-old was nominated in the drama section for an episode in 'House of Cards' and comedy section for 'Orange is the New Black, reported Telegraph.
Her brilliance as an actress is beyond question with several nominations and hooking two Oscars. But 'Orange is the New Black' was the first time that Jodie as director has dealt with the subject of lesbianism onscreen, wrote Deadline.
After reading Piper Kerman's novel, she knew that 'Orange is the New Black' is something that she would like to be a part of. "I asked my agents, 'Can I be a part of this?' and they said that Jenji Kohan just bought it for Netflix," says Foster.
She was eventually given the task of directing by Kohan and Netflix. Foster simply adores Kohan's ability to make something so funny and moving at the same time. She affirms it by saying that as actress it is the kind of thing that she does.
"As a director, dramedy is what I do," she tells Deadline.
'Orange is the New Black' is not just another comedy. Jodie Foster's nomination proves that the Netflix series is not just another show. Also the coming of Ruby Rose will surely bring in more excitement to the show.
