Starz' drama series 'Outlander' proves huge following when it prevailed in 2015 People's Choice Award and earned Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show title at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. But does Starz favors Outlander's avid fans with their decision to split its first season into two and with a long gap apart?
Riding on viewers' crave for exciting twists and effects are the reasons why this series go for long gap between episode 8 and 9 according to E! Online. As per their interview with the show's lead stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, upcoming episodes are going to be intense and darker.
"The action's really going to ramp up. It gets very intense, gets a little dark. Both our characters go through some really rough stuff, but it's exciting and I think everyone's gonna love it," Balfe' remarks.
The duo, who plays Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp Randall, also expressed their gratefulness for fans' massive support to which Heughan described as "very vocal bunch." These two stars have something to be proud of afterall as though Outlander premiered only on August 9 and got a break after its 8th episode on September 27 last year, it outdo established TV programs such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
Giving more ideas of what people can expect, executive producer Ronald D. Moore shared during Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour that the hiatus gave them a chance to refresh after Jamie and Claire's pairing. Heughan added, starting on episode 9 its all about his character that will endure struggles on responsibilities and relationships.
On her role, Balfe shared that they will show some serious and well-thought spanking choreography too in which they expect may magnet criticisms. This part is in relation to punishment Claire has to eabr after endangering their clans with the Red Coats.
"We all knew a lot of people would be very interested to see how we would tackle it," Balfe revealed. "We wanted to not take it lightly and to approach it very respectfully. We talked a lot about it. We met a few times. We choreographed it. You have to look at it in the mind frame of 1743. It is very hard as a modern person to see this as OK under any circumstance. But in 1743, this was a very justified form of punishment that a husband would mete out."
Starz already grants the clamors of this show, based on Diana Gabaldon's novel, to have Season 2 that they will shoot this April in Scotland. Are you excited to watch darker and more intense 'Outlander'? Share your comments below.
