Francis Lawrence, the director of "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," will be teaming up with "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence again, this time for a biopic entitled "The Dive."
Francis Lawrence is set to direct the film "The Dive," which tells the story of husband and wife Francisco "Pipin" Ferreras and wife Audrey Mestre. According to AV Club, Ferreras and Mestre is "a free-diving couple competing to see who can go the deepest underwater on a single breath of air."
Jennifer is rumored to be playing the role of Mestre, who died after attempting to beat her own record. Mestre's last record was a depth of 557.7 feet, which her husband tried to reach as well as a way to honor Mestre. Ferraras' dive to the same depth was captured on film by James Cameron, who will be producing "The Dive."
UPI lists other producers for the film as Rae Sanchini, Jon Landau, and Barry Josephson. Mestre became a world-record holding freediver and setter with Ferreras' guidance. According to The Hollywood Reporter, as reported by Yahoo! News, Cameron is a diver aficionado and has been working on the project since 2002, the same year that Mestre died at the age of 28. Martin Campbell has also been attached to the film for years.
Though Jennifer has been linked with the project, there are no announcements yet to confirm that she is cast.
For the meantime, Jennifer seems to be busy with her rumored boyfriend Chris Martin. People say that the two remain a strong couple despite a brief break in October after starting dating in August. Jennifer and Martin were seen out for a low-key dinner on Thursday where they allegedly came through the back door of Madeo in Los Angeles and headed for a candlelit table.
The couple's dinner lasted over two hours, with an onlooker saying "They looked happy and just focused on each other."
Another source also says Jennifer and Martin's relationship is solid.
