Chris Kyle and "American Sniper" keep attracting more and more controversy. And the most recent name to join in is Sarah Palin, who's now speaking out against those who're criticizing the deceased sniper and the Clint Eastwood film that was made about his life's story.
As "American Sniper" started to garner bad buzz from several celebrities in the news, Palin fired back with an impassioned Facebook post about how Brion was an American hero, and it's those in Hollywood who are wrongly criticizing him.
Here's the Facebook post in question:
"God bless our troops, especially our snipers.
Hollywood leftists: while caressing shiny plastic trophies you exchange among one another while spitting on the graves of freedom fighters who allow you to do what you do, just realize the rest of America knows you're not fit to shine Chris Kyle's combat boots.
May the epic "American Sniper" bring nothing but blessings to Taya and the children of this true American hero.
"Thank you Bradley Cooper and Clint Eastwood for respecting the United States Military," says Sarah Palin.
Palin's response comes after Michael Moore and Seth Rogen criticized the film for it's pro-war, pro-military stance, according to USA Today. Rogen stated that "American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds."
While Moore was far more overtly critical, tweeting, "My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse."
As well as: "But if you're on the roof of your home defending it from invaders who've come 7K miles, you are not a sniper, u are brave, u are a neighbor."
But the controversy seems to be working in "American Sniper's" favor- according to the New York Daily News, the film racked up an impressive $90 million take last weekend. With those kinds of numbers, director Clint Eastwood and star Bradley Cooper are probably glad all these celebrities are weighing in to fuel the fire.
