The much-awaited Super Bowl XLIX may be culminating on February 1st, but Victoria's Secret definitely got tempereatures sizzling with the online release of its new Super Bowl themed teaser ad starring the Victoria's Secret angels as football players.
The 80-second video entitled, "Don't Drop the Ball" features Victoria's Secret models Lily Aldridge, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, and Candice Swanepoel. E! Online reports that the models were clad in red and white jerseys - in honor of Valentine's day. The Victoria's Secret angels put their game face on as they tackled and aimed for the touch down scored by Lima.
The teaser video which was uploaded to YouTube on January 21, is just a part of a Valentine's Day themed campaign launched by Victoria's Secret. Likewise, a 30-seconder ad is set to run during the fourth quarter two-minute warning of the Super Bowl XLIX - details of which were posted as a description of the video in the popular video streaming site.
AdWeek reports that the final 30-seconder ad will feature Karlie Kloss. It also said that while the brand isn't well known as a "Big Game" advertiser, it isn't the first time that Victoria's Secret has run a Super Bowl spot. It recalled that the popular lingerie brand first aired a spot in 1999, followed by another Valentine's Day-themed spot in 2008.
Battling for the championship of the Super Bowl XLIX are the New England Patriots, who defeated the Indianapolis Colts (45-7); and the Seattle Seahawks, who won against the Green Bay Packers (28-22). The two teams will come head to head at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday, February 1, at 6:30 pm ET and will air via NBC.
