'Better Call Saul' Spin-offs Admired by Wide Audience as 'Breaking Bad'; Pilot Episodes Lacks Quality of Main Storyline?

"Better Call Saul" is one of the most admired spin-offs from the original series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, where the story is focused on the main character Saul Goodman set six years ago before the success of "Breaking Bad."

"Breaking Bad" was one of the iconic shows for several years, yet, it has taken a lot of risk to create a spin-off which was first seen as a foolish idea according to News.

The success of "Better Call Saul" was really admired by the critics. According to Huffington Post, the first three episodes are well-paced and completely introduced the strands of the plausible prequel for Saul Goodman, the main character of the story. He is the fast talking and ethically-challenged attorney of Walter White.

In addition, NZ Herald listed the comments of the critics to the first three episodes of the spin-offs. In general, they all said that the spin-off may added some comical spice to the series but it doesn't compromise the quality of the entire story.

In comparison to "Breaking Bad," the spin-off was able to deliver the same incredible potent blend of slippery morals and thrilling aesthetics as they were that makes the series famous about. However, in the spin-off, it was in a humous, and lighter tone.

As cited in The Paulia, "Breaking Bad" was primarily a drama compared to the spin-off, "Better Call Saul" which is considered a comedy.

The story was set six years before Saul Goodman met Walter White, who also goes by the name Jimmy McGill. He is a middle-class guy who feels that he has been restricted by life and filled with much difficulties.

This guy worked so hard to put on a chipper persona at the courthouse where he is usually suffering with low-paying gigs and defending low-life people. Amid being pressured by family circumstances and tried so hard to meet both ends, he usually ends up with having poor decisions and bad situations.

While he is trying to correct his mistakes and resisting himself from the surrounding temptations to stray from the straight and narrow, he oftens tip the odds in his favor by doing deceit and self-justification.

This will be premiered in the US in two parts which will be first aired on February 9.
