The latest spoilers recently revealed that Doctor Who season 9 is gearing up and moving forward to its premiere date this year now that principal photography already took off, hence, the filming has, of no doubt, begun this month.
Regular casts such as Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi have been both confirmed to reprise their roles and it is supposed, too, that other cast members will remain.
However, it s expected that a major revamp will be happening in writing and directing division following the announcement of BBC that the series will be undergoing changes in the storyline.
A source from BBC was quoted by a news outlet as saying, 'There will be some tweaks. We are obviously keen for it to appeal to the whole family.'
Doctor Who season 9 spoilers further propose that based on the network's statement, the show is looking into creating more episodes to whet the appetite of both the young and adult viewers in lieu of a storyline that basically targets older audience.
The show's fans are said to have wanted that monsters and aliens will be back to be part of the plot.
Meanwhile, Russell T. Davies, former showrunner who is responsible for the reboot of Doctor Who, was interviewed regarding the show's 10th anniversary this year.
He believes that it's impossible that the show will be close to being cancelled. According to Davies, 'Whovians' would go out of the streets to riot if it would happen.
"It's now impossible for it to ever be axed," the former executive producer of the series'" Davies said." It's certainly heading that way. Could you imagine if it was axed now? There would be uproar in the streets. Twitter would be set on fire."
"Who would have thought? If you look at the last ten years: ten years of rock solid ratings! It's bizarre to an old-school Doctor Who fan like me; its success continues to be extraordinary," he explained.
Doctor Who season 9 is slated to premiere later part this year, however, no exact date has been officially announced at the moment.
