Game Developer DICE has reportedly announced that Star Wars Battlefront release date arrives at the same time that JJ Abram's Star Wars: The Force Awakens Film premieres this December.
EA Chief executive Andrew Wilson is said to reveal at an EA investors meeting last October that this major first person shooter entry of the company will be introduced this Christmas to match the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens release.
While the Jedis and Yoda fans impatiently wait for 2015's AAA game to hit the shelves this year, here's a roundup of previews and other reveals in this highly anticipated title.
As reported, Star Wars Battlefront release is going to be born out of DICE's own concept of the series rather than creating a plain sequel, hence, seasoned Star Wars game buffs will be drawn to a whole new different level of gaming experience.
"There are absolutely things in the previous Battlefront games that you'll recognize and remember, but DICE wants to put its own flavor on it," EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund reportedly said.
He added, "That's the only way we can do it. Hence, it's called Star Wars Battlefront, without a 3 at the end. We want to say it's something new."
The game's first official trailer, however, hints that gaming enthusiasts will get to see another sneak peek clip this spring.
The latest speculation suggests that the second new trailer will be unveiled at this year's GDC.
Other reports claim the forthcoming title is a combination of a first person shooting with a space based combat, and it is also anticipated that a third person perspective will be featured in the game to fit players' preferences.
"Now, we at DICE are hard at work creating the best Star Wars shooter of all time, to carry that legacy into the future with 'Star Wars Battlefront,'" says DICE Design Director Niklas Fegraeus. "We're building the game that we as fans want to play."
Star Wars Battlefront release date is slated to arrive Christmas 2015 regardless of platform types.
