It was end of 2014 when spoilers revealed that Kim Matula who plays the major character, Hope Logan, in CBS's long-time running daytime soap, The Bold and The Beautiful, was leaving.
Obviously, the timing was not right for Matula to quit from her role when the storyline has her on the show's love triangle between half-brothers Wyatt and Liam. Avid followers of B&B are left wondering if writers will take her character off from the soap or not.
Consequently, showrunner Bradley Bell said in his reported interview after Matula exited that Hope Logan would not be out of sight forever hinting that indeed, the vacant role will be recast pretty soon.
Up until now, however, no news or update of recast is heard or seen. A slew of rumors suggested possible casting of Julie Marie Berman, Chrishell Stause, and most recent was of General Hospital actress Kristen Alderson when the actress announced her decision to leave GH this month.
Reportedly, a magazine made a claim as of late that The Bold and The Beautiful is not going to recast the character of Hope Logan.
The excerpt from the article of the magazine in question reads,
"Just hours after the news broke that the Emmy Winner (Kristen Alderson) had decided not to renew her contract with the current soap the rumor mill had her dying her hair blonde again and moving to B&B to take over the role of Hope, last played by fair-haired Kim Matula. A B&B rep tells Soaps in Depth that "This rumor is untrue. We are not recasting Hope, and we have not hired Kristen Alderson."
Preceding this report, Alderson had apparently debunked the rumors on social media about two weeks ago saying that she was not doing another show, and that also meant that she will not be the next Hope Logan.
It was pretty made clear by Bell in his statement that the character of Hope will be back at the Forrester mansion, but the question is when and who?
Meanwhile, the drama continues at Forrester Creations with the new love triangle that sparks between Maya, her little sister Nicole, and Rick.
The Bold and The Beautiful airs Mondays thru Fridays at 1:30PM on CBS.
