Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been put in a coma after being found unconscious in a bathtub on Saturday. Relatives insist that unlike her mother, who had been found in a similar manner, Bobbi Kristina is not on drugs.
On Saturday, Bobbi Kristina was found face down and unconscious in a bath tub in Georgia, Laist reports. With the "minimal" reactions from her brain functions, the 21-year-old is currently in a medically-induced coma. The daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston was discovered by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend, and was taken by an ambulance to an Atlanta hospital after attempts at CPR.
The cause of her fall has been undetermined, but it resembles that of her mother back in 2012. The late Houston was found also in a bathtub on February 11, 2011 in Beverly Hilton. Houston has been pronounced death from "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use."
Despite the similarities, relatives of Bobbi Kristina are saying she has "turned over a new leaf" after having a hard time dealing with Houston's death.
Jerod Brown, a cousin, told E! News, "She hasn't been drinking or doing drugs and she's cut down on cigarettes. She's been trying to get her music together and keep her voice clean."
Bobbi Kristina was scheduled to go to L.A. to record in the studio, according to a family friend sharing with NY Daily News.
Singer Bobby Brown has asked for some privacy regarding the incident, ABC News shares. In a statement, Bobby says, "Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."
The singer's lawyers have confirmed that Bobbi Kristina has been taken to an Atlanta-area hospital, but added that there will be no additional information to be released.
Hospital officials did not comment on Bobbi Kristina's condition as well.
Meanwhile, a close friend of the late Houston, Tyler Perry, who has apparently been by Bobbi Kristina's bedside since being admitted, seems to be keeping hope alive. A source tells Hollywood Life that Perry wants Bobbi Kristina to start recovery treatment at his home as soon as she shows signs of improvement.
The hospital has said that moving treatment right now would be risky, but both Bobby and Perry apparently think Bobbi Kristina will recover faster surrounded by family.
