The good news has finally arrived as Samsung finally released the new Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S4. Of course it comes with a set of requirements and process to follow for the update to be successful.
Last 2013, Smartphone giant Samsung released a sweet treat update, Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA (Over-The-Air), to their flagship phone in 2013 which is the phablet Galaxy Note 3, reported International Business Times.
Recently also, Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 (with Exynos 5 Octa-core CPU) in Russia has received its firmware update with the latest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA.
Here are a few things that owners of S4 must bear in mind as they proceed with the update:
They must free at least 3GB memory on the device to accommodate the new OS installation. The OS size is over 1GB (1049.17MB).
For optimization purposes, your phone will remove some apps like Google Play, Books, Movies, etc. but this is not really something to worry about since you always have the option to re-install them after the update is completed.
And what can the users look forward to for this update? Well, it is packed with all Lollipop features and the visually stimulating TouchWiz UI. The new material brings an interactive interface, superb animation graphics and its ART will enable the users to save more and enhance battery performance.
The update will be over-the-air, so that means that users will have to check their phones update page, reported Android Pit. Also there has been no confirmation yet as to when the update will be made available for standard models of Galaxy S4 but the site believes that it can't be far off since Galaxy S5 has already received its update.
Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) will receive notifications about the update and the user just has to select the option "Yes, I'm in." The download will then proceed. After that, you will select "Install now." The device will restart and the OS will be updated to Lollipop 5.0 version, reported IBT. If the user will not receive any prompt for the update, he can check by going to Settings>> About phone>> System update.
For those who are already itching to get hold of this update, you can check XDA Developers forum for the S4 ROM, Google's latest operating system on the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). This is unofficial, however, so it will have its risks, but Android Pit says that it's full-featured and pretty stable.
It may take some time before Android 5.0 Lollipop will be available for all the Galaxy S4 models, but several reports claim that this will happen very soon since the update already reached Galaxy S5. Based on its identified features, the Lollipop update can just be really worth the wait.
