‘Ghostbusters 3’ Gathers all Female Group to Replace Classic Cast; Girl Power Propels Fans To Tweet Mixed Emotions on Casting

With over three decades on the wraps, "Ghostbusters 3" would be able to put its act together reinventing itself, starting of with the gathering of an all-female cast, which wasn't particularly warmly greeted by folks who've got used to the old "Ghostbusters" - Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Dr. Peter Venkman and Dr. Winston Zeddemore.

The new Ghostbusters, which would be expected on the big screen by July 2016, would bring together an ensemble of four brilliant women, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, to replace the four parapsychologists who lived in a firehouse and kicked the butt of the marshmallow man (a.k.a. the Michelin man to some fans).

However, fans of the classic went to microblogging site, Twitter, and expressed their disappointment over the all female group. Most of the critics to the "Ghostbusters'" sex change were men, and among them would be business mogul Donald J. Trump. But these women couldn't easily be kicked-off from the re-energized "Ghostbuster" flick; as the original team had come and gone, producers had thought of bending the plot a little including the heroes sex.

Nonetheless, the surviving cast of the original "Ghostbusters" had already embraced the thought of having an all woman crew to do a reboot of the original movie when Director Paul Feig finally revealed on Twitter on January 28 the names of the four fantastic females. Dan Aykroyd said that the decision to make the female "Ghostbusters" would be a fitting tribute to his family and their business. Ernie Hudson, though having some thoughts about the female "Ghostbusters," finally agreeing and saying that the choice was "phenomenal."

As for Bill Murray, he also had some good words for the chosen females to replace them in the "Ghostbusters" movie. Now, Bill Murray had been serenaded to take on a role in "Ghostbusters 3;" however, the comedian had been dodging the proposal for years and had remarkably moved on to take other roles than trapping ghosts and keeping an eye on pet Slimer.
