With the increasing demand for better smartphone technology coming with a reasonable price tag, China's relative young electronics company, Xiaomi, would once again be carving out a piece of the market share the moment it releases its latest software update for its Mi and Redmi model phones, the MIUI 6.

The MIUI 6's release came with the release of the latest smartphone model for the Mi series, the model Mi 4. However, the MIUI 6 would not only be available to the latest smartphone models; it could also be downloaded to previous models. In fact, the software update would start with the Mi 3 and later would be introduced to the Redmi series.

The software update's major features would include an improvement on the previous software's creative content and design. Colors would be noticeably sharper in contrast to the the previous software, which would affect how the icons would look. Animation would be another prize to lookout for the MIUI 6 update with icons bursting into pixels the moment an app is dragged to the garbage bin. The update also made changes on standard Android apps, which would enable the user to manage notifications and reminders relatively a lot easier compared to other smartphones.

The press release on the latest software boasted the MIUI 6's "built-in security center" which would guarantee customer privacy and optimized data usage and battery consumption. Other features on the update would also include Wi-Fi through WiWide, an IVR system and the next generation MiTV.

Although it was just founded in 2010, Xiaomi had proven to be a a very competitive electronics company with a technological edge able to cut its share of customers, not only in China, but also around Asia. It first made its international headquarters in Singapore, later moving in Malaysia, Philippines and India. Prior to that, it had already sold over millions of smartphones across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
