'Jupiter Ascending’ Review, Premiere: A Spectacular Stellar to Showcase; Bright Dazzling Lights Make Up for Movies Relatively Comical Conundrum

By

"Jupiter Ascending" would be hitting the big screen this week and sci-fi movie fans have been waiting to watch the epic battle and stellar life of royalty in an extraterrestrial realm. However, one major question among movie goers would be, would it able to deliver?

As it turned out, it did in a sort of spectacular silly way. Based on reports regarding its initial screening, "Jupiter Ascending" is a very expensive fireworks show complete with the loud explosive action and the delightful colors bursting in mid-air. The costumes of the cast would resemble genetically engineered mash-ups of characters from previous sci-fi movies. The cast also had some moments of apprehension making the movie goer wonder what their wondering about. Most importantly, it a Wachowski film ("The Matrix" trilogy, "Cloud Atlas"); it was expected to bring out a "wow!" and not a "wait... what?!" from movie goers.

Nonetheless, "Jupiter Ascending" had some strong points as it made up for spectacle what it lacked in substance. Although there were some questions regarding the story, it was comically entertaining. Mila Kunis (Jupiter Jones) was the unsuspecting ruler of an intergalactic empire, who at first worked as a housekeeper before being scooped to space by Channing Tatum (Caine Wise). Tatum would be her chief security as they evade their enemies and ultimately fight for their lives as they try to salvage Kunis' empire from the three royal siblings - the Abrasax heirs: Eddie Redmayne (Balem), Tuppence Middleton (Kalique) and Douglas Booth (Titus). The Abrasax wanted to divided the empire among themselves; they also had a particular interest in Earth and wanted to sell humans, which would be converted to age defying space technology moisturizer which keeps their body's supple youthful glow.

Perhaps, movie goers just need to remember one thing when they set off to watch the movie; "Jupiter Ascending" would definitely be something to spend around 50 bucks on as long as the movie goer enjoys watching big stars, big effects and big explosions in a big budgeted movie.

Even the cast members don't take it too seriously, as Redmayne made a few quips about not getting his "chiseled abs" exposed during the entire film during his interview with Conan.
