The CW just released their first photo of Ray Palmer, who is played by Brandon Routh, donning the Atom costume for the very first time. The Atom costume debut will be seen on episode 315, titled "Nanda Parbat", of the hit superhero TV series "Arrow", this February 25, 2015.

The very rich and very smart, Ray Palmer plays a pivotal part of the third season of "Arrow" since his fiancée was killed by Slade Wilson aka Death Stroke when he was trying to take over Starling City at the end of season two. Since then Palmer has aspired to become a hero and thus donning his alter-ego the Atom.

In a recent interview with Variety, executive producer of "Arrow", Marc Guggenheim, said that "Ray's the first technology-based hero that we've done. Our heroes, on 'Arrow' at least, tend to be very sort of fisticuff-oriented. Ray is trying something brand new, also brand new for us too."

Guggenheim also goes on to say that, "The ATOM suit that is really at the cutting edge of technology, both in the real world and on the show. He's also going to have to discover that a super suit does not a hero make. Part of the thing that we're always trying to be true is putting on a costume is the easy part. It's being the hero that's the really difficult part and one does not mean you've accomplished the other."

Brandon Routh's character is also set to have an appearance on the CW's "The Flash" as reported by Variety. He will be joined by his "Arrow" co-star, Emily Bett Rickards on episode 18, titled "All Star Team-Up", of "The Flash".

Fans are already very excited on the crossovers that the CW has been doing with their superhero series and many people are also praising them for sticking closely to the source material. But the same fans were also disappointed with the recent announcement that the DC cinematic universe will be separate from the CW's TV series universe.

So what do you think of the costume? Will the multiple crossover events do more good than bad for the TV shows involved?
