'Teen Titans' live-action TV show official character roster revealed; TNT show to feature Nightwing, Barbara Gordon

The popular comic book series 'Teen Titans' is making its way on the small screen. With the huge success of comic book hero shows, such as 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' it is no wonder that TNT decided to adapt the comic book series into a live-action show.

It was announced earlier that the filming of the show will begin in late 2015. It was previously revealed that the show will be headlined by Dick Grayson, also known as Robin/Nightwing. The pilot of the series will begin with Dick Grayson growing tired of living in Batman's shadow. Wanting to gain his own identity, Robin quits as Batman's sidekick and works as a detective in Boston.

A surprise addition to the roster is Barbara Gordon, formerly known as Batgirl. While the character was technically not a "Titan" in the original series, she had an established relationship with Grayson. According to The Nerdist, Barbara will be putting aside her superhero costume as she is confined in a wheelchair, since she suffered at the hands of The Joker. In the comic-book verse, her character finds a role as a computer hacker known as "The Oracle".

Joining the roster are Hawk (Hank Hall) and Dove (Dawn Grander), who are rumored to be romantically linked with each other. Hawk has the ability to gain super strength, agility, and durability, but his weakness lies in his temper and rage. On the other hand, Dove has the power to turn into a dove when she senses danger approaching.

Rachel Roth, also known as Raven will also be part of the super hero roster. This fierce half-demon half-human hybrid with the ability to teleport, and manipulate objects with her mind.

Fan favorite, Cyborg the half-cybernetic half-man will also join the roster as the 'Titan's' chief technological expert.

Starfire will also be appearing in the roster as an alien princess who finds her way into Earth. A sort of a fish out of water, she will find the Titans to be her friends while adapting to planet Earth.

The latest character update came from the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns. He also the writer and producer of "Arrow" and " The Flash."
