This year, "Darkest Dungeon" is already highly anticipated indie game by avid gamers. The game itself will bring the players to its horror RPG where they will be placed with a lot of mentally unstable anti-heroes.
Techno Buffalo cited that "Darkest Dungeon" was already available in Steam Early Access last February 3 as announced earlier by Red Hook Studios, the developer of the game, in their Twitter account. "Stress is coming! Spread the word!" hastagged "#gamedev #screenshotsaturday" last December 2014.
However, with its powerfully striking visuals, the game has able to add some psychological pressures that the developer intentionally incorporated. This is one unique system that the developer made that causes some subsequent side effects that creates different kind of experiences as the party's development changes from time to time.
There would be a lot of changes that will happen during the entire duration of the game as stated in Destructoid. From the experiences gained from the party, later as the game goes along with darkened and harrowed lands, the routines are noticeably upgrading with the characters' particular abilities as well as equipments. That way the characters defined their selves in a more effective manner in such a way that the player will really observe as the game progresses.
The same site also added that the unique affliction system and at the same time the second mechanics of the game makes Darkest Dungeon outstand from the others. However, the player must be able to survive the stresses that is taken from the game by making own remedies. But this move will compromise something with a hefty cost.
One of the highlighted remedies that the characters can enjoy is through visiting a tavern filled with gambling, drink, and prostitution. These may help the characters to reduce the increasing stresses that they're bringing. But, keep in mind that these remedies - again, is bringing a substantial cost.
However, if there is still enough gold to spend, having another remedy can be good. But the site also cited that the player should be careful with their spending habits as they leave the characters a bit stress-relieved through the provided remedies.
Another thing to consider by the player is to upgrade the character's weapons but they're costing much though. Therefore, this game is allowing players to have a good decision-making in terms of choosing the right thing amid the hard choices given to them during the entire game. Though, doing this is part of the game's fun and challenge imposed to the players per se.
So, the game will start with a dramatic introduction where there would be an invitation to the player's characters to clear out the mansion. As explained in game play videos, the game starts with clicking on the campaign. Then, click on the first letter with a letter name and then choose the name of the game. After clicking, the adventure begins.
Darkest Dungeon is basically a challenging rogue-like turned-based RPG that revolves around psychological stresses of adventuring which will allow gamers to experience hardcore challenges.
Darkest Dungeon is available in PS4 and PS Vita.
