Kid Ink is racing up the charts and making his mark more than one. The 28-year-old California MC is speedily becoming popular on the hip-hop scene. With his debut album "My Own Lane" only came out early last year, and now he returned with his sophomore effort. "Full Speed" was released last Tuesday (February 3).

His previous album My Own Lane, released early last year, became successful. And he continues the same driving theme as his first album, and teamed up with a bunch of artists as well. Chris Brown, Trey Songz, R. Kelly all of them make contribution to his album, including also the R&B heavyweight Usher who is featured on the first single.

Kid Ink describes his collaboration with Usher as an 'unbelievable experience'.

"(Usher) is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He just popped up the other day at the album listening session in New York. He's a cool dude... you'd never think that he's sold millions and millions of records." Ink told Toronto Sun.

It was even reported his closeness with the R&B singer, that he called him "big bro" on Twitter. In an interview with ANDPOP, he said, "Aw man, he's cool man. I think he's probably one of the coolest dudes in the game. And to be able to communicate with somebody like that and not feel like you're under them and you can really have a creative conversation [is great]. It was dope to have him pop up on me at my album listening party the other day and really have fun and stay and kick it when I'm sure he has a lot of other stuff to promo. It just shows the support. I think he's a pretty dope dude."

When he was asked if he was intimidated with the R&B heavyweight, he answered, "I mean, of course, it's Usher, [his CD] was probably one of the first R&B CDs I ever had in my household. This is somebody whose dance movies I emulated and now we're doing a video together and I'm trying to do the same thing."

Kid Ink's album "Full Speed" also includes beats by DJ Mustard, Metro Boomin, DJ Dahi and Key Wane.
