No more belting high notes and heartwarming performances, Kelly Clarkson lost her singing voice? The first American Idol winner shares a moment when she thought her career was over before Piece by Piece album release on March 3.
Ever since winning AI in September 2002, the 32-year old wife of husband Brandon Blackstock earned mark in singing industry. She's the impressive voice behind chart topping songs like "Behind These hazel Eyes" and "Breakaway." However, like other music artists such as Adele and Lionel Richie, Kelly also experienced fear of losing her precious gift.
"I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day," she divulges on ET Online Canada. "I was like, 'Oh God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore!' I thought my life was over!"
Clarkson said it happened after she gave birth to River Rose in June 2014. Good thing, the Grammy winner regained it in no time and complication to go through.
"You don't realize what happens with your diaphragm and just ... breathing," she added.
Meantime, after releasing first singer 'Heartbeat Song' in January, track list and art cover of Kelly's upcoming album under RCA Records has revealed this February. A Valentine's Day offering for Clarkson's fans waiting for something new from her.
"My fans are like, 'You haven't released anything in forever!'" Kelly said in her interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. "And I'm like, 'I was pregnant! I was like vomiting pregnant!'
Piece by Piece features 13 original songs including Kelly's duet song with John Legend, 'Run Run Run.' It's her follow-up album after 'Wrapped in Red' and 'Greatest Hits- Chapter One.' According to Kelly, her first single 'Heartbeat Song' is an anthem for fans and a mirror of her feeling in life.
"It's pretty much one of the most pop ones on the album. You know, full force for the fans. They love those anthems from me,"
