Michael Fassbender Plays as Steve Jobs on Movie Casting with Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet: Hit Premiere Expected as "Slumdog Millionaire" Director Sits on Chair

After being dropped by Sony, the "Steve Jobs" production was set to vanish. But Universal picked up the production and last week, they announced that the biopic is set to premiere on October 9, 2015. Michael Fassbender (X-Men : Days of Future Past) will play as the Apple founder and genius Steve Jobs, Seth Rogen (The Interview) will be Steve Wozniak, the Apple co-founder. Joining them is award-winning Kate Winslet (The Reader) as Joanna Hoffman, Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber To) as John Sculley and Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) as Chrisann Brennan.

What To Expect From The Film

The film has gone through a lot of trouble, considering that its production has been turned on and off for quite some time. The dispute started with the lead role which is supposed to be taken by Oscar-winning Christian Bale (Exodus : Gods and Kings) but he allegedly dropped the role due to salary issues. The next in line was Leonardo DiCaprio but he turned down the role because he's still filming The Revenant, mxdwn.com reports. Fassbender, showcasing exquisite performance, won the role in the end.

Based on Walter Isaacson's biopic of the late Steve Jobs, the Universal released a statement that it is "Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter." With this, enthusiasts regained hope that this film might be one of the biggest biopics to watch out for this year.

Despite the dilemmas the film faced, there are a million reasons to be excited about this film. Not only that it will be penned out by "The Social Network" screenwriter and Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin, it will also be directed by another Oscar-winner and director of "Slumdog Millionaire" Danny Boyle, Entertainment Weekly writes.

Will the film do better than Ashton Kutcher's "Jobs" in 2013? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
