Kate Middleton, Prince William Expecting Baby Girl: Royal Couple to Name Their Second Born, Princess "Diana"?

By

As Kate Middleton's due date draws ever closer, many cannot help but speculate what the gender of the Royal baby shall be. During Kate's first pregnancy, Prince George's gender wasn't revealed until she gave birth. This time, however, the Royal Couple have revealed their ultrasound results to family members and close friends.

"Kate and William found out they were expecting a girl during the 21-week scan, and since then, everyone's been asking what they plan to name her," a palace insider told OK!Magazine. The 33-year old Duchess will reportedly deliver her baby at St. Mary's Hospital in London.

Rumors have begun flying around as to what William and Kate will be naming their baby. Some have speculated that they will be going with more 'traditional royal names', such as 'Mary' or Elizabeth'. But the couple seem to have already decided on a name for their little princess.

The Royal Couple "decided then and there that no matter what anyone said, they were sticking to naming their baby girl after her late grandmother," the insider continued "Having a baby girl who carried her name will be a beautiful reminder of Diana every time he looks at his daughter."

William and Kate want to give their daughter a name that holds special meaning to their lives, and Princess Diana certainly holds a special place in both William and Kate's hearts. Princess Diana died in a tragic car accident after her vehicle was chased by the paparazzi in August 31, 1997.

While there have been rumors going about that Queen Elizabeth won't be too happy of the name, she has already given her consent to it.

Despite these rumors, Kate had previously referred to her unborn child as "it" during a previous interview.

What do you think of the Royal Baby's name? Should William and Kate name their daughter, 'Diana'? Let us know in the comments below.
